Perhaps life hasn’t gone as you planned and despite your best efforts the light at the end of the tunnel has vanished and depression sets in. Perhaps you’re an adult, still single, with prospects feeling more hopeless as you cross off the calendar day. Your high school friends are married, some with children, displaying their perfect life all over Facebook and Instagram. Maybe you just lost a loved one, or a relationship ended, leaving you overwhelmed with grief and despair, alone with a gaping hole in your heart and unanswered questions, including the proverbial question, “Why me?”. Or perhaps the unexpected job loss and financial hardship have set you back further from reaching your goals. At this point food has either consumed you or lost its appeal and guilt and darkness have become your constant companions. Your bed is the new vacation hotspot and what once brought you joy and pleasure, well, you can’t even remember what that was. You ask, “What’s wrong with me? What about the desires of my heart, doesn’t God hear me? How much longer do I have to wait? How do I move on without them? Why did God take them away from me?”

LIGHT AND HOPE

The weight of depression can feeling like a heavy, wet blanket that’s too burdensome to remove while the pain can sometimes feel more real than Jesus. Though a chemical imbalance can be a contributor to depression, similar to anxiety, depression can also speak lies about yourself, others and the world around you. With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) we will expose the root of the suffering by unpacking the layers of darkness that have developed. Together we will expose the lies with God’s truth, and apply His promises to restructure your thinking patterns that align with His truth and restore the hope you need for your future. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a marriage or the awareness of what you’ve come to depend on is no longer there, I will help you navigate through the grieving process as you endure and go through the loss coming out stronger and experience God’s healing presence and resume living again.
